Town and MCA - Late evening after the ball

Roy was actually surprised when Aly and he left the winter themed ball only to find snow slowly falling down from the dark sky. It seemed to be instantly melting on the ground, but it was still chilly and he grinned at Aly.

"Think we jinxed the weather?" he asked, buttoning up his trench coat.

"Getting into my trench coat," he teased, smoothing his hands over her shoulders. He paused momentarily to steal a soft kiss.

Aly smiled and leaned into him to return the kiss. "Well, I was cold."

"It's warm inside," he murmured, brushing another kiss to the corner of her mouth as his hands slid down along the lapels of his coat - hers now, just for a moment.

"I'm warm here," she pointed out. "So there's no need to hurry."

Nothing like being completely contrary, Aly.

"Mmmmmm," he pulled back a little. "Where do you want to go?"

Aly stayed close, not wanting him to get cold now. "I'd say down to the beach, but I doubt you'd be able to see much. So back to the apartments as planned?"

His arms moved around her as he kind of liked the being warm too. "You could tell me what there is to see," he suggested.

"Mmm, I could," Aly agreed. "And you'll tell me if it's too cold?"

"Mmmmmm alright," he murmured, kissing her cheek again, his nose slightly cold already where it brushed her cheek.

The cold nose made Aly shiver but she led the way back to the beach to listen to the waves come in. "Can you see anything?" she asked quietly, her shoes slipped off and laying in the sand.

"No," he said with a laugh, the snow was still falling and it made everything almost pitch dark. "Just you."

Aly laughed and twirled on the sand, feeling the coat flare out dramatically. "I don't mind being the object of all eyes."

Well, just one. Unless there was a squirrel.

He watched her, his expression softening for an instant as before he grinned. "Somehow I'm not surprised."

Still laughing happily, she came back to him, wrapping her arms around his waist. "Shhh, don't tell. Supposed to be sneaky, you know."

His arms easily went around her, not minding the closeness or warmth. "You can hide in plain sight," he commented, sounding relaxed.

"I'm pretty good at it too," Aly agreed, completely lacking in modesty.

"I don't doubt it," he changed his mind and pulled back so he could slide his arms underneath the trench coat instead. "I'm sure you've frustrated a lot of people like that, O Cunning One."

She shivered at the cold gloves on her back and pressed closer against him. "I take frustration as quite a signal honour."

"I'm even less surprised about that," he teased, his voice thick and he was cold but as long as she stayed this close he didn't quite mind.

"I can see I'm going to have to work harder," Aly admitted. "If I'm not surprising you anymore."

Roy smirked and he leaned closer, nuzzling his nose over her ear which really was a bad idea because cold. "That's not a bad thing."

Aly shivered against him and tried to twist her ear away from his nose. "Cold! And not in the good way!"

"You're the one with the coat," he reminded her, his arms tightening around her to keep her there while he buried his face against the side of her neck.

She squeaked at the shock of his cold face and squirmed away from him. "Don't make me take you home!"

He raised an eyebrow and it was probably a good thing she couldn't read the smug expression as he shifted to brush his cold nose down her throat and underneath the collar of the coat.
