Town and MCA - Late evening after the ball

Roy was actually surprised when Aly and he left the winter themed ball only to find snow slowly falling down from the dark sky. It seemed to be instantly melting on the ground, but it was still chilly and he grinned at Aly.

"Think we jinxed the weather?" he asked, buttoning up his trench coat.

"I'm pretty good at it too," Aly agreed, completely lacking in modesty.

"I don't doubt it," he changed his mind and pulled back so he could slide his arms underneath the trench coat instead. "I'm sure you've frustrated a lot of people like that, O Cunning One."

She shivered at the cold gloves on her back and pressed closer against him. "I take frustration as quite a signal honour."

"I'm even less surprised about that," he teased, his voice thick and he was cold but as long as she stayed this close he didn't quite mind.

"I can see I'm going to have to work harder," Aly admitted. "If I'm not surprising you anymore."

Roy smirked and he leaned closer, nuzzling his nose over her ear which really was a bad idea because cold. "That's not a bad thing."

Aly shivered against him and tried to twist her ear away from his nose. "Cold! And not in the good way!"

"You're the one with the coat," he reminded her, his arms tightening around her to keep her there while he buried his face against the side of her neck.

She squeaked at the shock of his cold face and squirmed away from him. "Don't make me take you home!"

He raised an eyebrow and it was probably a good thing she couldn't read the smug expression as he shifted to brush his cold nose down her throat and underneath the collar of the coat.

Aly raised an eyebrow in return, still trying to squirm away. "Well, now I think staying out here would be a better punishment."

Roy pulled back to meet her eyes, unable to suppress a shiver. "That's not what you said," he pointed out.

The shiver made her feel badly and Aly's arms tightened around his waist as she urged him back towards the head of the beach. "Come on, boyo, let's get back to where it's warm."

"Boyo?" he questioned with some amusement. "Are you going to tuck me in then?"

"Nah, but I'll lend you Dee to cuddle with," she laughed.

"Mmmmmm, I suppose that will do," he sighed, keeping an arm around her as they walked. "Can you still see your shoes?"

"Of course," Aly said, pointed to a spot in the dark. "It's not snowing that hard.

"Just checking," he teased. "Wouldn't want to get stuck here, you'd have to keep me warm."

"You could just carry me back to the apartments," Aly pointed out. "Save my feet and keep you warm."

She hadn't learned anything from the park, did she? He didn't give much warning as he suddenly stopped walking again, reaching down to lift her into his arms.

Aly burst out laughing, her arms automatically wrapping around his neck. "That cold, were you?" she teased, rubbing her cold nose into his neck.

He shivered instantly, his arms tightening on her as he continued walking. "Don't let me fall over your shoes."

She changed her tack and kissed his neck instead. "I wouldn't."

His fingers tightened on the coat but for completely different reasons now. Her mouth felt hot against his cool skin and he caught his breath. "Good," he murmured. "I'm counting on you."

The response was obvious to her and Aly grinned, her lips still brushing his skin as she leaned up slightly to draw his earlobe between her lips.
