Town and MCA - Late evening after the ball

Roy was actually surprised when Aly and he left the winter themed ball only to find snow slowly falling down from the dark sky. It seemed to be instantly melting on the ground, but it was still chilly and he grinned at Aly.

"Think we jinxed the weather?" he asked, buttoning up his trench coat.

"You mean you didn't plan this?" she teased.

"I did order it," he admitted, "but I thought it was a rip off." He grinned and held out his arm for her.

"Depends if you used a weather witch or a catalog," Aly told him seriously, resting her hand lightly on his arm.

"Hmmmmm," he considered it for a moment as they started walking. "Maybe there's something to be said about magic after all."

Aly chuckled. "Of course there is. It's just taken you this long to figure it out."

Roy shot her a sideways look. "I'm going to pretend you didn't just insult my intelligence."

"You insulted mine earlier," she smirked. "Now we're closer to even."

"I suppose," he relented, touching her hand. "I think you still owe me a couple of dances, though."

"Maybe," she relented. Aly threw him a look. "I might like that."

He laughed. "You owe me kisses too," he teased her.

"I might," she acknowledged.

"If you're comfortable with that," he teased her as they made their way across the street to take the shortcut through the park.

Aly made a face at the snow. "Better not stick. It's already as cold as it needs to be."

He was going to take that as an invitation to take her hand off his arm so he could wrap it around her. "I would offer you my coat, but we'll probably be at the apartments faster than that."

She didn't mind the arm. Dresses were cold to walk in. "Uh huh. Or you're just afraid of being cold..."

Oh now the coat was coming off. He stopped in the middle of the path, pulling back to unbutton his coat.

Aly laughed, watching him and not protesting at all. "Such a gentleman."

"That's just been your goal, hasn't it?" he teased, taking trench coat off. He took a step closer to her, immediately sliding it over her shoulders.

She held onto the edges of the coat with her hands, not bothering to slip her arms into the sleeves. "Calling you a gentleman?" she asked.

"Getting into my trench coat," he teased, smoothing his hands over her shoulders. He paused momentarily to steal a soft kiss.

Aly smiled and leaned into him to return the kiss. "Well, I was cold."

"It's warm inside," he murmured, brushing another kiss to the corner of her mouth as his hands slid down along the lapels of his coat - hers now, just for a moment.

"I'm warm here," she pointed out. "So there's no need to hurry."

Nothing like being completely contrary, Aly.

"Mmmmmm," he pulled back a little. "Where do you want to go?"

Aly stayed close, not wanting him to get cold now. "I'd say down to the beach, but I doubt you'd be able to see much. So back to the apartments as planned?"
