MCA #10 - Saturday morning

The bed Roy woke up in was rather big, but big beds were fun and he wriggled away from the girl sleeping beside him to inspect the heap of kittens lying at the foot of the bed. Dee got up to inspect him back and her whiskers tickles his cheek and nose, making Roy giggle.

"Stop that! It tickles."

Aly watched him carefully because next time she wasn't going to have to bargain with this silly boy to get hot choklit. Grownups were better.

Roy simply ignored the watching as he got the milk from the fridge and then climbed back on the chair to get two mugs from the cupboard. He set them down and proceeded to pour milk in them, very careful not to spill any.

"So why you like books so much?"

"Because you can learn from them," he replied. The microwave pinged as he pushed the open button and he set the mugs inside. Now he just needed to figure out how to start it up.

She watched warily. "Not everything."

"A lot," he closed the door and studied the buttons a moment longer.

"You don't know ho~ow," Aly singsonged. "You said you could an' you can't!"

"Can too!" he shouted, quickly turning the button and pushing the other one which made the microwave jump to life.

Her eyes widened. "That was good!"

Roy lifted his chin. "Course it was."

"WHere's the choklit then?" she asked, coming into the kitchen, dragging an uncomplaining Dee along.

"Heating up!" he frowned at her. "You need to be more patient."

"Nuh uh! You only put milk in the cups!" Aly argued.

He rolled his eyes. "You put the chocolate in afterwards, dummy."

"'M not playing with you if you call me a dummy!"

"You promised," he pointed out.

"SO?" she asked, pouting just a little. "You're bein' mean."

"If I was mean I wouldn't be making you hot chocolate," he pointed out and the milk was making bubbles, even coming over the sides so Roy quickly pushed the button.

The door flipped open and Roy quickly reached inside to grab the mugs to save them. He hissed as it was hot. "Ow."

"You're onlee makin' me hot choklit cause I promised to play with you," Aly argued. She frowned as he got burned. "You okay?"

"Fine," he said stubbornly, not going to admit anything else to her. "And you don't have to play with me ever." He quickly grabbed the mugs and moved them just a little outside of the microwave, quickly waving his hands as it was hot.

She frowned, coming closer. "You got burned. You should put your hands underwater."

"S'fine!" he argued automatically, hiding his hands behind his back.

"S'not!" Aly argued. She poked him in the chest. "You're not so smart if you don' know when you got burned!"

"AM TOO!" he stood his ground and waves his hand in front of her face quickly to prove it.

Quick as a flash, she reached out to catch his hand. "Nuh uh. See? The red spot!"
