MCA #10 - Saturday morning

The bed Roy woke up in was rather big, but big beds were fun and he wriggled away from the girl sleeping beside him to inspect the heap of kittens lying at the foot of the bed. Dee got up to inspect him back and her whiskers tickles his cheek and nose, making Roy giggle.

"Stop that! It tickles."

"Meep!" And that would be Roy falling down onto the mattress with an 'umph'. "Get off!"

Aly giggled and rolled off him. "See? Not dumb!"

"How does that prove you're smart?" Roy wanted to know, whining as he was tackled by a girl.

"Got you!" she smirked.

He made a face and decided that ignoring it was the best possible action. So he rolled towards the edge of the bed and jumped off. "I'm getting breakfast."

"I want some!" Aly yelled, jumping off too. "Look! I'm a hero! I can fly!"

Roy blinked. "That's not flying," he said soberly.

"Uh huh!" she argued. "It's jus' like flying!"

"Like isn't the same as flying," he argued back, apparently way too serious for a kid his age.

Aly scowled. "You're no fun. I wan' cake!"

"Cake's not good for you in the morning," Roy told her as he wandered into the kitchen. "Cake is afternoon food."

Aly wasn't paying attention anymore as she tiptoed after Dee, trying to sneak up on the kitten.

Which was fine with Roy as he headed into the kitchen. He grabbed one of the chairs and pushed it up against the counter so he could stand on it and reach the cupboards where the morning food was kept.

Aly tackled Dee into submission and curled up with the limp kitten on the couch, petting her carefully. "Wanna play a game?"

"Is it game time?" Roy asked, pulling out several boxes of cereal. Cereal was yummy and he wondered if the toys were still inside.

"Was talkin' to Dee!" Aly argued. "You're boring boy."

"Am not!" he shouted back, sad that the toy was out of the cereal box already. "I'm not sharing with you!"

Aly sighed heavily. "Let's go find some adults and get hot choklit."

"I can make hot chocolate!" Roy shouted, because he could and he was slowly starting to realise that there weren't any adults here to tell him what to do.

She jumped up quickly. "REALLY?"

"Yes!" He said smugly, jumping off his chair with the boxes. It couldn't be hard, it was just pouring milk and then putting it in the microwave and turn buttons.

"I'll play with you if you make me some," Aly said, eyes wide.

Roy eyed her suspiciously. "Play what?"

She had to think for a moment. But...hot chocolate and....

"Anything you want."

Roy considered it. "Okay," he decided and he placed the boxes carefully on the counter before he went to open the fridge to get the milk.
