Central, Amsteris - Thursday

A complete search of the house the previous day had pretty much come up empty. Aly hadn't been able to find anything that could have been responsible for General Grumman being poisoned so after some debating, it was decided to check out Headquarters. Keeping up the pretense of Aly being a lieutenant, it wasn't too hard to come up with with the excuse that she was just being transferred over and needed a tour of her new working grounds.

Investigating the estate without drawing attention had been hard, but it was even harder at Headquarters and the constant coming and going of officers didn't make it exactly easy trying to find any evidence. Whoever was behind it had been thorough and it was already starting to get dark outside when they finally gave up and a car was called to drive them back to the Grumman estate.

Roy settled beside Aly in the back of the car and gave the driver - a young private - directions as to where to go before he sagged back, eye closing as he drew in a breath. He didn't want to bring up the subject at all as long as they were alone, so he tried to keep his thoughts away from the mission. "So how did you like HQ, Lieutenant?"
