Eastern Theatre, Eastern, Amestris - Evening

It was just a normal evening. A general sent to Eastern to do some inspections of the Eastern troops usually ended up getting bored in his evenings. The theatre was only a few blocks away from his hotel and Roy had been visiting it most evenings now. Sometimes even going to the same movie. He hardly got this much free time when he was back in Central.

At least, that should be how it looked. Going regularly earlier had hopefully thrown off anyone who might be watching. He didn't know if Aly would be able to make it. It'd been weeks since he'd last seen her, but she had been fine. Even if he knew without a doubt, that her communications were only covering half of what she'd been doing and he couldn't help worry.

It'd been the right decision to make, he needed someone he could trust down here and the person he used to rely on for these missions was gone. Aly was good, he was just failing terribly splitting his mind between the boyfriend and the General who knew to put his trust into his men, no matter what the risk.

He needed to be that General tonight.

"You came to see it yesterday too?" Of course, she did. He laughed softly, nodding. "Something drew you back for a second time then?"

Aly tilted her head just enough to see him, her eyes laughing. "Maybe it's just the uniform." She shot him a tiny wink. "We're clear...except for the red headed gentleman in the back."

"He's no trouble."

Roy smiled, the tight line of his shoulders relaxing and he leaned forward. "Not exactly what I was expecting."

She mock-sighed, pretending to be looking for something in her handbag to hide the massive grin. "All this time, and I still have to lecture about expecting the unexpected?"

"Apparently," he sighed. "It's been weeks, I had to picture something to keep going."

"Because working would have been way too much to expect?" Aly joked. "Besides good things come to those who wait."

He hummed and casually rested his arm on the armrest between them. "Why would I be working. That's what I have staff for."

"Try that with someone who doesn't know you," she murmured, her fingers reaching up to touch the tips of his.

He smiled at the touch, and even when she didn't look like her, he knew that better than anything else. He slid his fingers between hers, drawing in a slow breath as he reassured himself she was alright.

"I thought we just met," he teased quietly.

"Don't worry, Mustang, it's all a hallucination," Aly breathed as she managed not to smile at the touch.

"So I'm actually lying in a hospital having weird morphine inspired dreams?" he asked, actually rather familiar with the whole concept.

"Not like it hasn't happened before," she snorted, pulling her hand back to clasp in her lap as she shifted. "Tell me what's been happening?"

His fingers tingled at the loss of contact and he sighed as he closed them.

"You mean other than Havoc having another girlfriend?" he asked, smirking at her.

Aly's lips quirked at the 'news.' "Exactly. All the gossip."

"Oh, but it's an interesting story," Roy chuckled. Most of the information they'd be passing through in different ways, but this much he could say and people rarely looked into these sort of codes. "It took him weeks to ask this one out. You know, I think he's still traumatised about how his commanding officer took off with the last leggy blonde he had an eye on."

"Poor man," she decided, shaking her head sadly. "You have to wonder about that commanding officer. Whatever was he thinking?"

"That the blonde was leggy and gorgeous," Roy suggest with a smirk.

Aly looked behind her, her movement deliberately slower and at a different angle than her normal. "Maybe Havoc should try his hand at a brunette or two."

"You think his commanding officer won't be interested in brunettes?" Roy thought on it. "It could be true."

"The only brunette his commanding officer is interested in is himself," she smirked.

"Huh," Roy frowned. "I thought he had black hair. Maybe I'm picturing the wrong guy."

"I think you are," Aly decided. "The black haired guy has a thing for red heads."

"Huh," he tilted his head. "Are you sure? I'm certain it was blonde."

"Perhaps your age has damaged your brain," she replied, smirking as she looked up at the screen where the movie was playing.

Roy's attention stayed on her, however. Even if he was still trying to pick out how she was pulling this particular face off. "You're older than I am."
