MCA #10 - Evening

There was a lack of overenthusiastic kittens to greet Roy as he pushed the door to Aly's apartment open. There was a definite lack of kittens and Aly in the living room too.

"Did you leave without saying goodbye?" Roy asked, following the sounds coming from the bedroom.

Aly made a face at him. "Will you come back with a different decision?"

"No," he said quietly, almost apologetic.

"Want me to stay with you?" she offered, crossing the room to him.

Roy smiled a little and reached up to brush her hair from her forehead. "I think I can manage one night without you," he said softly. "There's no reason not to go, you'll have fun."

Aly rolled her eyes. "I have no doubt you can manage one night. That wasn't why I offered."

"I know," he leaned in to kiss the tip of her nose. "I'll be fine."

"Good," she murmured, eyeing him. "And you'll take care of the kittens?"

"No doubt you've instructed them to take care of me," he glanced over Aly's shoulder at the two kittens who were sneaking up on Aly's bag. "I think they'd rather go with you."

"They just like bags," Aly said, leaning up to kiss him. "They'll be perfectly happy tormenting you."

"Now you're just projecting," he murmured. He slipped his arm around her as he leaned his head down to return the kiss.

"Maybe," she agreed easily, focusing more on the kissing. "Don't let the island blow up."

"Do you find me that hopeless?" he asked, teasing her and kissing her cheek instead.

"Yes," she smirked, pulling back to turn to the packing.

He went to the bed and made Dee scoot aside so he could plop down beside Aly's bag, making it hard for her to not pay him attention while she was working. "Are you going to show me what outfits I'll be missing out on?"

"Depends," Aly teased.

"On what?" he asked, glancing briefly up at her before he pulled the side of the bag towards him to see inside.

"If you'd rather see them than the special ones," she said, looking amused.

He raised an eyebrow as his attention was quickly focussed on her again and he absently pulled Dee back from climbing inside the bag. "There's special ones?"

"Could be," Aly smirked, reaching out to rub Dee's ears as she mewed in frustration.

"Mmmmmm," he leaned his head on his arm and tugged Dee closer so she'd settle down beside him. "What dress will you be wearing?"

"The blue one," Aly said, throwing him a look.

"I like that one," he mused, just watching her now.

Aly leaned forward over the bed, not touching him. "Thought you liked all of them."

"I do," he agreed easily, scratching behind Dee's ear. "Or maybe there's something they all have in common."

"The material?" she teased. "Or the length?"
